Shutterfly for Christmas

My husband and I have never sent out Christmas cards before. Last year, after receiving numerous photo cards from our friends and family, we decided that this year we definitely needed to send out some Christmas cards. We’ve been a little slow to create our cards, with our job searches and whatnot, but luckily, Shutterfly has many different premade layouts available that make creating our Christmas card incredibly easy. The easier it is the better for me at this point. With only 9 business days before I start my new job, a huge amount of work at my current job and countless events and happenings with friends and family, I can use something simple in my life. The only problem that I’ve encountered so far is that Shutterfly has so many great options to pick from I’m having problems only choosing one!

So far the top contenders are the

Elegant Lace Snowflakes,

Snowflake Sprinkles,

and the Bright Blue Snowflake

cards (I obviously must have a thing for snowflakes this year!)

So, my suggestion to you is, if you need Christmas cards still this year and like the idea of sending out photo cards, head on over to Shutterfly and check out some of their designs. They have hundreds to choose from, so I’m sure that you’ll be able to find several that you like.

Oh and while you're visiting Shutterfly, making a photobook for someone may be an excellent Christmas gift idea too. The quality is excellent. Some ideas are, scanning some of your parents old wedding photos and creating a modern wedding album; scanning some of your grandparents old photos and creating a memory book for them; creating a book of a photos from a trip that you took; the possibilities are endless. I've started creating photobooks of all of the vacations that I take. It's a fun way to organize the photos and remember all of the great times that you had. I made one of my California trip and made extra copies for my mom and sister as a surprise. They love them!

Have fun!

7 More Hours

7 more hours readers...that's all that I have left as a 20-something. Not that 30 is all that scary, but in a way, yes it is. I guess it's not actually 30 that's so scary. It's the list that you mentally create of all the things that you'd like to do before a certain age.

Growing up, I always assumed that I'd be married by 22, first child by 25 and finished having children before 30. Well, here I sit on the eve of my 30th birthday and I haven't even thought about having children yet. Well, I've thought about it, but not thought that I'd actually want to have kids yet. I guess I still have some growing up to do before that happens. Having children scares me because at that point I'll have to start making some sacrifices...no more Tory Burch Revas because it's no longer practical to spend $200 on one (!) pair of shoes for myself when the kids need clothes, diapers, toys, furniture, etc.

Oh well, 30, bring it! Because at this point, what's the worst that can happen?!

Dressing for My New Job

As I recently accepted a new job, I suddenly realized that I am going to have to make some changes to my wardrobe. Currently, I drive to work and park right at my building. I would say that it takes me 20 seconds to get from my car to my building. My new job will require me to walk several blocks from my car to my new building; I'm guessing that it will be about a 10 minute walk. Given that winter is upon us, I am realizing that walking 10 minutes every morning and evening in the snow and ice will not exactly be an enjoyable feat. I typically wear whatever I plan on wearing all day when I leave the house in the morning. I am beginning to rethink this strategy with my new job. I am leaning toward wearing boots to walk in and then changing into pumps when I arrive at work for the day. I am also thinking that I will need to invest in a warmer coat.

I am thinking that a new coat like this should do the trick.

What do you think? Will I look crazy hiking across campus in a long coat, Uggs, and business casual?
